Detail from Mayan Ma's 2011 design archive showing the koala inspiration and original body-hugging bag concept
From Mayan's design archive

“Make the weight disappear.”

Original concept · Engineered weight distribution

Our Story

It started with a shoelace.

Mayan Ma — a Chinese immigrant civil engineer — tied her purse to her leg with a shoelace on a cross-country flight. She watched koalas cling effortlessly to trees and designed a base shape that curves along the body, making the bag's weight disappear. Eight configurations, one bag, zero compromises.

Handcrafted from 1060D nylon and waxed canvas. Worn by motorcyclists, hikers, convention-goers, and parents who refuse to choose between function and style.

From the founder

“I tied my purse to my leg with a shoelace on a flight and couldn't stop thinking about a better way. I watched koalas cling to trees and saw a strap system no bag had ever tried.”
